Deer Hunting Kansas' Toughest Terrain

For much of the winter many of hunters have been stoved up thinking of the next guided deer hunting trip & where they are going to kill the next big buck. We at Dirt Road Outfitters are already looking out for our deer hunters. We have many places to hunt that many people look over while Deer Hunting Kansas Alot of the whitetail bucks like the thickest cover possible located in the most remote portion of a piece of property during the periods when the deer are not in their feeding patterns. These seculded honey holes are great places to check out for deer sign this time of year. Even if you do happen to bump a big buck, he still has plenty of time to go back to the spot before season. These secluded honey holes often consist of catails, over grown wooded tree areas, such a cedar, & cottonwood over grown areas. A place a whitetail deer can anything coming from a long dog gone ways off. Deer Hunting In Kansas can prove to be difficult to access these hidden buck oasis. That is why we check these hunting spots out now to see where we can locate the hunter on the way to these buck paradises next hunting season. While you may not have over grown catail or cedar or cottonwods on your property, a hunter may look for other areas of cover that are over 3 foot tail. Plum thickets have proven to be excellent places for Deer Hunting In Kansas. CRP grass is also an excellent place for bucks to take a hot doe or simply bed down for the day. While the CRP grass & plum thickets dont offer much in terms of sign, we simply scout these areas weeks prior to hunters arriving in camp, & so we don't heavily check these areas this time of year before turkey hunting season. The other afore mentioned scenarios usually have plenty of clues to tell us where we need to set up a hunter for the next hunting season.
